YouTube head of gaming Ryan Wyatt to resign and join Polygon Studios as CEO

On Tuesday, Ryan Wyatt, head of gaming at YouTube, launched he might well be leaving the video-sharing platform in February. Partly resulting from his leadership, YouTube Gaming sees over 250 million daily logged customers per day with hundreds of billions of sight time as soon as a year. Wyatt cited his ardour for blockchain and Web3 patterns in explaining his resignation. He will soon be a part of Polygon Studios as its CEO.

Polygon Studios is the gaming and non-fungible tokens, or NFTs, an arm of the namesake layer-two Ethereum scaling community. Polygon (MATIC) plans to commit $100 million to projects led by its subsidiary studio, which debuted final July. The company’s targets are to manufacture decentralized gaming, attract blockchain enthusiasts to its NFT tokens ecosystem and fix Polygon as a competent blockchain for the Web3 transition. Concerning his recent function, Wyatt acknowledged:

“I shall be focusing on rising the developer ecosystem thru funding, marketing and developer make stronger and bridging the gap between Web 2.0 and 3.0. I’m going to be main the Polygon Studios organization at some level of gaming, leisure, type, news, sports actions and more.”

It is bittersweet news to portion that I’m leaving @YouTube.

In his departure observation, Wyatt described fond memories of his first day at Google’s Mountain Study about, California headquarters in 2014. He also expressed his gratitude to CEO Susan Wojcicki and chief trade officer Robert Kyncl for hiring him eight years abet. Meanwhile, Polygon Studios gave Wyatt a heat welcome to his recent function.
